Gas prices near four-year low
Wednesday, December 03, 2008
The National Post -- OTTAWA -- Canadian gasoline prices are the lowest they have been in almost four years, according to a weekly report by Calgary-based petroleum consultancy group MJ Ervin & Associates.

Its weekly pump-price survey, released Tuesday, shows the average price of regular gasoline in the country at 80.7¢ a litre, down 2.7¢ from a week early. Besides being the 11th-straight week the average price has fallen, it is the lowest national average MJ Ervin has documented since 79.7¢ on Jan. 18, 2005.

Gasoline prices have fallen just more than 40% from th7eir peak -- dramatic but, on the surface, trailing the rate at which crude oil prices have fallen.

Conserve. We can't let the low prices lure us back to our old ways. Investment in new technologies will be cut back until prices go back up and make them profitable.

Demand is up because sheeple are shopping and they went to grannies for thanksgiving. What do you expect? They got rooked out of the holidays last year because of high gas prices.
Oh, by the way, they have very short memories.

Even though car and truck sales are in the tank right now, the best selling vehicles are still full sized pick-up trucks that the Big three are being criticized for making. There is obviously a market for this product as well as fuel efficient cars.

Don't get used to these prices. This is just the low point on the economic/gas price cycle. Hopefully we can keep our jobs through this downturn and figure some way of using less money per commute (by bus, by hybrid, ...).

To AC-302, C$ not quite that low but even so, we produce Oil & refine it so shouldn't be an issue of buying US. Even so, by my calc. you're example should read just under $2.52 USD/US gal.
Based on charts on this site, Cdn avg is over .83 /L & equates to over $3.13/gal US so even your example is off quite a bit. We're paying about $3 /gal US$ here but its still more than that to us in our $.

Why conserve? Gas is cheap, I'm going to go out and buy my H2, and put wide mud tires on it.
