Follow high gasoline prices to Obama support; states with most expensive fuel costs solidly for pres

San Jose Mercury News -- There is a curious relationship between a state's gas prices and presidential politics. The higher the price of gasoline, the higher President Obama's prospects of winning that state.

Obama's electoral map to victory bares a remarkable resemblance to a map of the country's highest gas prices.

California, Illinois, Washington D.C. and New York - all solidly Democratic - are among the costliest for gas. Wyoming, Montana, Oklahoma and Utah - where Lyndon Johnson was the last Democrat to win the presidential vote - are among the cheapest.

Using the same flawed logic..... shows the GOP red states are filled with whiners about high gas prices when other people are paying much much more....

Follow high gasoline prices to Obama support; states with the most expensive solidly for pres?
There are high gas prices all over this country, not just in certain states. Time to show Barry the door!
Whatever the size or shape of the vehicle, Produce and ‘Drive’ vehicles with high MPG, are very reliable, have a ‘reasonable’ cost and a good ‘value’ for the money. Consider using other forms of less expensive transportation to lower your cost, if possible.
The price of fuel at the pump is too high!

"Voters are getting their wallets lifted at the pump regardless of their party," said Bob Mulholland, a California Democratic campaign strategist. "And people want to see someone in the ring with gloves fighting on behalf of consumers and car drivers."

Not hard to imagine, and it has NOTHING to do with Obama:

a) Larger population areas with less "good old fashioned hard work" like farming and ranching tend to attract liberals with "white collar" jobs.
b) These areas become more crowded, and it drives up the cost of living
c) Higher cost of living results in higher costs for everything, including fuel.

It shows how uneducated the author is if they can't connect the dots.

My grandfather called people of low intellect "chill skulls" so blue is the perfect color for states with a population of "Chill Skulls". And before some lib goes nuts, I have a child with autism but we still have a sense of humor even in the difficulty of it. Red States Rock!

Hope & change, hope & change. I always hope things DON'T change. No matter who's in office MOST changes produce worsening conditions for those of us on the bottom.

There is some poetic justice here.

May their prices triple!

Naw, they will follow their leader regardless what it costs them or what it costs us all.

Obama talks as if the Treasury department hands the oil co.s a check. They don't! They get deductions for equipment purchases the same way I do. I only employ 2 people. Oil and their related businesses employ 9,000,000!
