Use loyalty for the larger tanks & cheapest for the smaller tanks. Loyalty price is still taken into consideration when getting cheapest price. When pricing around here can easily be $0.30-$0.40 differance around here.

I usually buy from Kroger because of my Kroger points discount. If I do not have any points built up, then the cheapest. I can't hardly afford gas as it is.

I usually buy Shell or Sunoco because the cheaper gas doesn't have the cleaning additives that they do. I have been mostly buying Shell though.

I used to be loyal to a certain brand until the gas stations got greedy and one would sell for 30 cents cheaper than the brand I was loyal to. Since then I became loyal to the cheapest gas.

Cheapest is the best, and It's made from bananas. It's smells like a pina colada going down the road.

Cheapest fuel doesn't mean the best. If you spend a dollar more on the "name brand" gas, but you get 50 miles more per tank, it is worth it.

If it's liquid, and it makes the car move, and it's cheap, I cram it in there.

No offense, but isn't this kind of a silly question? This is a gas price posting website. If most of us didn't care about prices, GasBuddy wouldn't be needed in the first place.

It doesn't matter what brand of gasoline you buy. In Oregon, it all comes from the same source. If you think a "branded" gasoline is better for your car, think again since all you are paying for is the name. As for me, the cheapest gas works for me. It also pays to have one of those rewards cards from someplace like Fred Meyer's or Safeway since you can get about 3 cents off per gallon of gas you buy.

Every car is made to run on 87 grade gasoline. Unless you have a modified engine that needs a higher grade, the cheapest gas will run just fine.

I have a Sam's club membership. My entire family purchases gas there since it's usually anywhere from .10-.20 cheaper on unleaded or premium. I've also started pumping premium since it lasts much longer in my car. I usually fill up on payday then it'll last for two weeks. If I have unexpected running to do (excessive) I might have to fill up a few days before payday.

I buy Premium for my vehicle. I actually took the effort to see how many miles my vehicle goes on a tank of gas for each grade. I found out Premium actually gave me the most mileage for my money. I use Gas Buddy to find the cheapest Premium around town.

I buy the cheapest I can find, that works with my travel routes. I use GasBuddy to hunt around, and figure out what I can get with the least diversion.
But as others have pointed out, it can be difficult. I find the map interface is easiest to work with, but you can only do that on a laptop. Fortunately when I take a long road trip, I tether my cell phone to my laptop for internet access and do refueling planning that way. This has worked for me on I-95 to Florida and back.
The smart phone interface is really lacking road worthiness. A dream ap would integrate with Google maps and show prices within an area.

I buy from Exxon with an Exxon Mastercard that gives me a 15 cent/gallon rebate. Only buy gas on this card and pay it off every month. No annual fee, no interest charges. I would buy ethanol free if I could find it but I live in the Dallas/Ft.Worth area and all the stations here sell E10. Bummer!

I like to buy the cheapest - especially when traveling - but with the limited information (street address and not highway or exit numbers )that gas buddy allows (the additional information is not available on a mobil device)- this is almost impossible. No wonder more truckers and fleets do not use GasBuddy....the information is useless.
When driving down an Innerstate, an adderss on Elm and Maple is meaningless - but an Innerstate number with exit is like gold (I-10 exit 123) .These are not to be added as they make the address sloppy looking and hard to read per moderators - Elm & Maple is usless to a travelor not familiar with the area.
Do not try adding this info in the Tyler Texas area as Miss Mimi (an address cop) will report you to tne mods and you will be denies access to the master list.
Thanks to all who have added them in other areas and states - and to those who do not have a bug up their behind about it to delete the information!!! The additional info has proven invaluable during our 2500 mile journeys!

remember the cheapest fuel is not always the best for your vehicle...it is engineered into the vehicle, the grade of fuel it should use...this is where you get the best fuel milage and the least damage to your emissions system...if you understand the principle behind it you may change your views on buying the cheapest fuel...at a few pennies a litre what do you save on a tank of fuel? a couple of dollars... an emission system repair can cost you $500.00 to $2000.00...you can put a lot of proper grade fuel in your vehicle for that and not have to worry about an emission control system repair...

Well, I have to use premium, so buying the cheapest is kinda not an issue. BUT, I also price check for the cheapest premium that ISNT Ethanol blended (car hates it).

I used to buy where I could get ethanol free, but no station in my area sells it any more. Now I just buy the cheapest. Convenience isn't a deciding factor, since I can go past a half a dozen stations without going out of my way.

Ethanol free is the only valid reason to spend any more than the lowest price available fuel.
...of course, since I now drive a Golf TDI, all my fuel is ethanol-free ;)
