Firestone winter force tires that last a long time and are great on wet surfaces and super traction in the snow.

well obviously you will have figured out why you need new ones by the time you find out you need new ones lol so the next step is figuring out what kind of driving you do; either highway or city..there are more fuel efficient tires for higher speeds on the highway (less friction, traction or skinnier im not sure exactly how they work) but more tred equals more traction same for width of the tire im sure.. i think these specifications are most important, but i also have a smaller wallet ..honestly they all can mix in well so i say they are all important, but the most important is your life and safety.. NEVER PUT THOSE SECOND! ps. hahaha and trusted advice....my advice

Specs. Price. Trusted advice.
Brands don't mean much unless you know who really made them, and warranties, like mail-in rebates, are unreliable.

Price of course, but specifications are a close #2 on my list. Due to the vehicle I own it does require tires that are fairly high in it's speed, temperature, traction ratings.

Price is important, but for car tires I want to make sure they are A A rated for temperature and traction (the treadwear rating doesn't mean anything without a good temperature rating.) For pickup truck tires, I want high load capacity and deep treads.
Gonna try retreads on my pickup next time it needs a set (treadwright.com) just to see how they do.

Specifications and Warranty... Specifications: I want tires to be not only a trusted brand, but to have tried and true quality incorporated such as the science involved in the composition of materials used, cord mechanics, design theories, durability, elastomers, finite element analysis, force and moment behavior, groove wander, heat build up, hydroplaning, impact, manufacturing, mechanics, etc.
Warranty: really needs no deep explanation. I just want it to be a reasonable warranty without a bunch of B.S. loop holes and evidence that the manufacturer has confidence in their product and back it up in a way that will curry the favor of the customer to want to purchase from them in the future.

Different brands work well on different cars. Above all, I will take advise from an expert who knows what will work well on my car. I have a mechanic who owns the same car I do, and I trust his recommendations on tires and order them from Tire Rack.

I entrust the safety of my vehicles to the mechanics who service them. When they say I need new tires, I let them replace the tires. In the grand scheme of things (I don't drive that much and my mileage is spread over three vehicles), the cost of tire replacement doesn't amount to much for me.

first the right size, then the tread needed for year round weather, then the price, then the brand. mostly the price. i think goodyear and bf goodrich have lost heir minds charging over 100 dollars each for mud tires. so i waited til i had a coupon and can use a online deal at the same time. the last itme i bought bf goodrich all terrain tires i paid 85 dollars each for them saved 30 dollars per tire.so far i have over 60k miles on them and they still have over a half inch of tread on them.: ) talk about getting a deal on a set of four tires. even wally world is charging over 100dollars each for them. the only advantage of wally world is they match the lowest price on anything you find on the net for a competitors pricing.

I guess I'm stuck in the "other/NA" category. I want the balance between (estimated) tread life versus cost. I don't care for overpriced showey tires, but also want some tread life.
BankAmericard Cash Rewards... we'll suck you in with what seems to be great percentages, knowing you'll be paying for it in interest and late fee's, because the majority pay out more than they gain.

brand price warranty and specs but on my xterra i get to choose from about 5 tires total as it has an odd size and all were so close on specs and had same (60,000 mile) warranty i went with the one offered the cheapest (with offer at ntb buy 3 get one free) discount wouldnt match it as after i did the math it went from 115 a tire to 89 averaged over all 4 next cheapest with all offers was 99 at discount then 100 at ntb and so on and since they were basically the same tire cooper (i got those) and general tire i think was the next one same specs and warranty plus my dad has coopers on his truck theyre good tires so i was like yea im gettn the cooper

Just took my Ford Focus to Wal*Mart today to fix a flat. Had a screw in the sidewall and they couldn't fix it. The computer said they had two Tiger Paw tires for my car but they could not locate them. They only had one tire left in the store that would fit and it was $16 higher and made in Korea. I had them install it as it would take 24 hours to order one. Now I have 3 kinds of tires on my car. Road hazards can sure mess up your plans about buying tires, brands, or when you think you will need them. I never buy sets of four.
