They get a speed on a pack of cars, and then pull them ALL over. It's effectively domestic terrorism, but it's legal. It's nice to know, though. Thanks.

This seems to be the current approach of the State Police setting up speed traps in the vicinity of toll plazas, as noted by my post yesterday.

I couldn't tell if they were getting speeders or toll violators but there were at least 4 State Police cars with people pulled over within 1/4 mile of the toll plaza.

I didn't see the license plate so i couldn't tell if it was a cop or not.

I'm not sure what he's watching for, speed or lights, but my radar detector didn't go off.

I think the ticket was acquired on Rand, though.

One of them was maroon and unmarked. Yesterday the Cook County Sheriff was back at IL-53 and Dundee again. Last week there was a state trooper there with a LIDAR unit.

They were set up just at Route 59 about 6 months ago. They probably get to write a lot of 20+ mph over the limit tickets.

Trains cannot speed like cars do. Most North American Frieght locomotives cannot go higher than 70 or 75 MPH.

I've seen him there many times before. Also, IL-53 north of where it joins I-290 was very busy this morning. Lots of state troopers were keeping quite busy in many locations.

On the roads I also noticed radaring by an Alsip car, Robbins car, and Cook County Sheriff. When the temps go up, they all come out of the woodwork!

My radar detector saw him well in advance, and other drivers nearly hit me when I slowed for him. Two cars swerved around me angrily, but then they saw the cop and didn't get a ticket because I had slowed them down.
