May I remind all of you of the Israel attack on the USS Victory (a US Navy ship) during the six day war. Another "mistake", hey I've got a bridge in Brooklyn to sell to you and it's on sale for the month of Jan. HURRY it may not last.

Davewalk;//- """Are you really saying that Israelis "despise our way of life?" Are you serious? They are already living our way of life, and they enjoy and appreciate it!"""

"""Israel only is a paid puppet. Of all the foreign aid given by the U.S., they have received the most of any one country, in the excess of $100 Billion dollars and still on the receiving end annually. Ever wonder who committed the first true "terrorism attack," against the U.S. and the Brits at the same time? Research "Operation Sussanah," or "The Lavon Affair." It was in 1954 and one of the gang leaders was a young buck back then, but you see him on the world news constantly, now an old wrinkled man, but for hint he is now a former Prime Minister and the acting Assistant Prime Minister of Israel. It was this act that caused Eisenhower to turn his back on Israel for the balance of his administration and Israel turned to the likes of Russia as being their friend. The 67 war is what got the U.S. back in with Israel, but Johnson did not have the time to get overly involved with the Viet Nam war running him into the ground. Not unlike any other Middle East country, they also stand by the "Enemy of my enemy is my best friend."

If they stay there they are going to get hit. Just like the people that live there and have the Hiz Bullys firing the rockets from their houses, they get hit. It is called WAR.
The UN has been there how many years? Done nothing!!! Should have been removed long ago anyway.

From the UNIFIL press release today...

Another UN position of the Ghanaian battalion in the area of Marwahin in the western sector was also directly hit by one mortar round from the Hezbollah side last night. The round did not explode, and there were no casualties or material damage. Another 5 incidents of firing close to UN positions from the Israeli side were reported yesterday. It was also reported that Hezbollah fired from the vicinity of four UN positions at Alma ash Shab, Tibnin, Brashit, and At Tiri. All UNIFIL positions remain occupied and maintained by the troops.

"...the tragic loss of a soldier yesterday who I happen to know and I think probably is from my Regiment. We've received e-mails from him a few days ago and he described the fact that he was taking within - in one case -- three meters of his position "for tactical necessity - not being targeted". Now that's veiled speech in the military and what he was telling us was Hizbullah fighters were all over his position and the IDF was targeting them and that's a favorite trick by people who don't have representation in the UN. They use the UN as shields knowing that they can't be punished for it."

Israel has apologized. There's no way that the bombing was deliberate.

JewwellP, I have no idea where you get your information, but you are seriously misinformed. Are you really saying that Israelis "despise our way of life?" Are you serious? They are already living our way of life, and they enjoy and appreciate it!

What Kofi Annothing said is just one manifestation of his incompetence and irrelevance, while the statement of this topic SEEMS to be a manifestation of of an irrational bias against the Israelis. Sorry to see that, psc...I thought better of you.

No problem the UN has seen it's day and they need some else to replace it.

Kofi Annan says this was an "apparently deliberate targeting". How in hell would he know that?

And why would he jump to that conclusion? (Never mind, I think I know the answer to this one.)

Using spell check might help. Recall in the Yugoslavia debacle we bombed what we were told was the a guerilla hangout but it was the Chinese embassy. That was a mistake but perhaps the Jews` were sending the UN a message.

"Israe"?

Are you sure an apology is in order? Remember, the report was from the Hezbollah. I'll wait until I see proof positive of the bombing.
