I've had my 2004 Civic since Aug and I often have occasional hesitation on acceleration from a stop...any one else have this? I haven't really been able to predict when or why it does this as its not consistent

How many miles are on it?
Since it sounds like it is still pretty new, it may still be under warranty. Have the dealer check it out.
