I am looking at purchasing a new vehicle. I'm leaning towards red or white, but I am having conflicting stories from people telling me why I shouldn't purchase these colors. Any input?

White shows dirt.
Silver is the best color for not showing dirt or rust.

Silver is the easiest to maintain and it is very visible on the road. For all other colors you will spend half of your life trying to get them to look clean. My second choice will be very light blue like Lexus RX330 has. White does show dirt and dust very easy. And you will every scratch on it since undercoat is usually dark color.

If you are leaning to the two colors you like, then all things being equal as far as how the car is loaded, pick the one you can see your self in everyday.

Pretty simple really, who really cares what other people think of "YOUR" color choices? Unless their the ones that are going to pay for, wash, wax, insure and buy the gas, why listen to their opinions about your choices in the things you buy?

Depends on the car. Getting a BMW 525 or up (i.e. 545, 645, 745, 750, 760), Lexus GS or up, Mercedes S 500, etc. then black should be at or very near the top of the list. Getting something high performance, then red's good (red isn't the basic color of Ferrari for nothing). You're in Nebraska, so it's not like white can save you air conditioning as is the Arizona argument.

The insurance bureau of canada says Red has a higher insidence of car accidents. the only thing I don't like about red is the fading that happens due to the sun and salty road ing winter. White is easier to keep clean, it is cooler in the summer but harder to see in the winter. Black absorbs the heat and is way to hard to keep clean. Personally I like silver or gray, it's easy to keep clean, it deflects the light so its cool in the summer and can be seen in the winter.
