Is anyone having problems posting prices to the site? I get points for submitting the price, but it doesn't show up in the price list. It used to work fine, but I think that it is due to some security features that I have turned on in by browser, but I can't figure out which.

Any ideas?

I posted a gas price today and it stated that it wasn't a match. Also it is not listing some of the stations that i am reporting.

Thanks jrsva. I will submit prices using the favourite list. It appears to be working correctly! If you don't hear from me again, that means that all is well!

Thanks for the MSE advice. That is what I use!

I use both IE and FireFox, because sometimes FireFox breaks web sites, especially where scripts are used.

That’s some help Pscamp. First, you have two rather dicey bits of software there. Both Vista and IE have a lot of issues. Changing operating systems is a hassle but changing browsers is not. I would suggest downloading Firefox and putting IE out to pasture. You can import your bookmarks and customize most features. This may not be the source of your problem but there are sufficient other reasons to make the switch.

Try creating a Favorite Station List for the stations that you report most often and see if you get errors when using that.

Then there is the question of what security software you are using and what the settings are. That could be the source of script errors if it is not an IE issue. I had various issues with my firewall for awhile. I am not a fan of most MS products but I’ve had no problems at all since I switched to Microsoft Security Essentials and it is free.

I post using only my i-phone and haven't had any problems. I just wish there were a way to see comments on the i-phone without having to go into the add price feature

These are the steps that I take (this is repeatable):
- Internet Explorer on Windows Vista
- Link to http://www.ottawagasprices.com/ReportGasPrices.aspx
- fill in the fields, hit Submit
(sometimes same price, sometimes different)
- Sometimes I get a script error, I can say Yes or No, same thing happens.

The script error is recent, not sure when but a month or so?

I go back to my main page, and I am not credited with the updated price.
If I go to my 'MyPointsStats' page, I have got points for submitting the price update.

If I hit the update button on a listing for the station from the main page, I AM credited for the update.

I've seen this lately too and it may have come with the last android update, maybe? It used to work fine while your phone was in a border zone area with weak signals or transferring towers (which is where I am lots, in rural areas with only 3G). It used to post and be slow but after a delay it would complete the posting. NOW it seems to wait momentarily, then give you the "thank you" message. THEN a after a momentary 2-3 seconds you will see a message saying that you must post a price... I've seen this on both my phone and my wife's phone; both with the latest GB app, Android 2.3.4, ATT, Galaxy i897 (S Captivate). It seems as if your post did not go thru that you should not get the "thank you" message...

Also -- there are at least four ways of posting prices when using the primary Web site, and some more (I'm not sure how many) ways using a smartphone. Are you using the Web site? If so, exactly what are you doing to post a price?

I've occasionally seen a glitch in which I post prices using the map view, and when I dismiss the "Thank you" dialog box, the replacement price listing box shows no prices at all for that station, instead of the ones I just posted. When this happens, I just post them again.

More are details needed in order for anyone to help.
Does this happen for every price you post or just a few?
Is it dependent on what the price is (high or low)?
What browser and operating system do you use?
What settings did you change to add “features”?
Perhaps something else but these are a good start....
